    Early Chinese Transitional Wucai Porcelain Vase - A long-necked pear shaped polychrome vase with floral motif and two birds. Wucai decoration in underglaze blue, with overglazes of red, green, yellow, and aubergine. The vase has a white pedestal foot that is separated from the decoration by a double line band in blue underglaze. Underside of recessed foot is glazed, but unmarked. The rim at the mouth is glazed in brown. 16 3/4" H. Condition: Wear commensurate to age and use. Some bottom wear to foot rim and roughage to recessed bottom under foot.

The top of the blade just below the guard is marked with a crown and “FW 48” with a crown over a letter “G". Phrygian style pommel cap on hilt, single knucklebow stamped with crown over “G” on one side, leather wrapped wood grip with wire wrap. Iron scabbard. Original box knotted lanyard included but has become unattached with break in weave. Dimensions: 31 1/2" blade, scabbard - 33 1/2" L, Overall 37" L.
